Internship: Orientation to Restoration Ecology Fieldwork

Application Deadline: February 24, 2012
Start Date: May 29, 2012

This internship program on restoration ecology is administered by Madison Audubon Society. Interns work in small groups at sites within 30 miles of Madison. Two teams will be hired for the summer of 2012: one to work at five separate sites around Madison (the Prairie Partners team) and the other to work at Madison Audubon’s Faville Grove Sanctuary east of Madison in Jefferson County. The Prairie Partners team works at the Pheasant Branch Conservancy, the U.W.-Madison Lakeshore Preserve, Goose Pond Sanctuary, and Westport Drumlin Prairie/Empire Prairies State Natural Area. There will also be the opportunity to work at sites managed by The Prairie Enthusiasts in Dane and Iowa counties.  While at each site, interns will be supervised by the managers of that site.  This highly successful program provides an outstanding opportunity for students interested in restoration ecology to learn while they are working. Applicants will be considered for both teams unless otherwise requested.
